Good sleep is essential to staying healthy in body and mind. Skill building will include introduction of asana, pranayama, and meditation techniques designed to create certain effects. Additional resources will be provided to participants. Skill practice will include developing attention, defining intention, simple adaptation of traditional postures, and techniques to support practice over time. Each day of this workshop will include a combination of lecture and active practice. Participants are encouraged to bring note-taking materials, a practice mat, and wear comfortable clothing for movement. This class will be led by Dr. Kim Allen, a certified 500-hour teacher and 500-hour yoga therapist through the American Viniyoga Institute. Kim has her doctorate in Health Education and has been teaching yoga since 1996 to a wide range of specialty populations.
