Pranayama is the yogic practice of breath control. This workshop will introduce the science of breathing, the energetic connections to breath, and various pranayama techniques. Skill building will include knowledge of building breath capacity, intended effects of pranayama techniques, and integration of breath with movement. This workshop will include a combination of lecture and active practice. Additional resources will be provided to participants. This class will be led by Dr. Kim Allen, a certified 500-hour teacher and 500-hour yoga therapist through the American Viniyoga Institute. Kim has her doctorate in Health Education and has been teaching yoga since 1996 to a wide range of specialty populations.
Cost: $200 for two-day session. Qualifies for 10 in-person Yoga Alliance CEUs.
